Why James Gibb?
Whether you’re a new home builder looking for someone to take on the factoring role of the communal areas of your development, or you’re a property owner fed up with your current factor, there’s a wide choice of factors out there to choose from. With many options to deliberate, here’s why you should consider James Gibb for your property factoring needs:
Trusty, reliable business
James Gibb residential factors has been around for over 140 years in one form or another. Starting out life as a family business in 1872, to an eventual takeover in 2012, there’s one thing you can depend on with us: we’ll be here for you. Having survived recessions and housing market crashes, we’ve always still been in the position to serve our customers.
Plus, we are still very much cemented in providing that family-business service, whereby we can cater to a large number of customers whilst still offering that familial level of care. This is backed up by our customer base which is somewhere in excess of £3bn real estate throughout Scotland. Of this customer portfolio, we are pleased to say that we have enjoyed an almost insignificant loss rate over the years.
21st Century factoring
Although we’ve been around since the Victorian ages, our approach to factoring certainly isn’t stuck in the past. We continuously strive to make our service the best possible for our customers, and that includes keeping up with the latest technology and fitting in with our customers lives. We know people are busy and on-the-go, and we also know most people have access to the internet these days. That’s why we’ve made everything available in an online portal and handy app. Keep track of your building works, AGMs, payments and more, all at the click of a button with our James Gibb+ web service and handy app. For more information on how this works, check out our video.
PMAS representation and IRPM
This year our Managing Director, Nic Mayall, was elected to serve on the board of directors of the Property Managers Association Scotland (PMAS) – the industry body which represents property factors nationally. We joined PMAS a number of years ago and take an active role in conferences, training courses and other association activities. With Nic on the board, we are in a position to have our voice heard and to help drive through improvements within the industry, which is beneficial for our customers.
We are members of the UK wide Institute of Residential Property Managers which focusses on raising the standards in the residential property management sector, and provides all of our Property Managers with independent accreditation of their professional skills.
In addition, we pride ourselves on our compliance with things like the Property Factors (Scotland) Act 2011 and Code of Conduct, our transparent costs, trusted contractors and dedicated property managers – all of which help ensure our customers receive exemplary customer service.
