James Gibb remains committed to keeping you informed and as such we are pleased to provide details of the recent Cladding Remediation Programme announcement made by the Cabinet Secretary for Social Justice, Housing and Local Government, Shona Robison, to the Scottish Parliament on Thursday 12 May 2022. The announcement relates to the ongoing challenges concerning external wall systems, cladding and fire safety on buildings in Scotland.

The highlight of the announcement is that beyond the twenty-five developments in the Single Building Assessment (SBA) pilot scheme, all known eighty plus developments which applied for the SBA or are sighted by the Scottish Government at this time, (not on the pilot scheme), will now be considered for the initial stages i.e., fire safety investigation funding.
The cladding crisis was at the forefront the recent Institute of Residential Property Management (IRPM) Annual Seminar, where Scottish Government representatives alongside David Reid, Chief Executive at James Gibb residential factors, presented regarding freehold challenges in Scotland and the Scottish Government’s involvement in the cladding crisis.
James Gibb is a credible voice across the residential factoring industry and actively engages with the Scottish Government and other relevant agencies on property law, regulation and matters relating to heritable property in Scotland.
