Business Fives: James Gibb to Score High for MND Scotland
As the new football season kicks off, some willing (and not so willing) members of the James Gibb team and friends are raring to showcase their football skills in the upcoming Business Fives Construction, Housing and Property Heat on Tuesday 15th August. Team James Gibb are looking forward to an afternoon of winning – we mean networking – and supporting this great event.
Business Fives is an annual five-a-side footballing event, put together to help raise a target of over £10,000 for charities. Teams compete in heats within various industry sectors, before the big World Cup style tournament final. With over 60 local and national charities benefiting from the fundraising efforts of the teams, it’s an excellent way for local businesses to network, test their footwork and take part in some great charitable work. The tournament is well supported with ambassadors including sporting legends Pat Stanton and Gary Mackay and Rangers Ladies Manager Amy McDonald amongst others, who will be sure to show Team James Gibb how it’s done.
The event is being held at Powerleague in Glasgow and we’re raising money for MND Scotland as nominated by our Chief Executive, Douglas Weir. Motor Neurone Disease Scotland is the only charity in Scotland supporting people affected by MND, as well as funding vital research to find a cure. Our sponsor forms have been circulating around the pitch (our offices) and it’s great to see such amazing support already. The winning team also receives an additional contribution to their chosen charity from Business Fives, so it’s in our best interests to score high for MND on the day.
We are looking forward to the Business Fives tournament and thanks to everyone who has donated so far to MND Scotland. Make sure you stay tuned on our social channels on Tuesday 15th August to see how Team James Gibb are getting on in their heat – you might even find us refuelling and revelling at the awards presentation afterwards (we hope!).
If you can, we would really appreciate you visiting our Just Giving page and help us raise money for MND Scotland.
