Annual Gas Safety Inspections - Boiler Maintenance
Attention - Landlords and Owner Occupiers
All private and social landlords are required by law to ensure their properties are gas safe for their tenants by carrying out maintenance work, with three main legal responsibilities:
- Carry out gas safety checks every year.
- Provide the tenant with a copy of the annual gas safety certificate.
- Ensure the continued safety of pipework, appliances and flues.
All landlords should be aware of their legal responsibilities when it comes gas safety within their properties and ensure they are complying accordingly.
It is also good practice for owner occupiers to undertake a similar approach in getting their boilers and any gas appliances checked and serviced on an annual basis, to ensure the safety of themselves, their families and neighbouring properties.
