This time we’re finding out more about what it’s like to be a Senior Property Manager from Paula Murphy in our Glasgow office.
Introduce yourself and your role in James Gibb…
My name is Paula Murphy and I am one of the Senior Property Managers at James Gibb. I manage a team of 3 other Property Managers with a varied range of developments, as well as my own portfolio with developments in and around the Glasgow area.
How long have you been with James Gibb?
I joined James Gibb at the beginning of April 2017.
What does an average day for you look like?
My day consists of dealing with calls and emails regarding development matters, as well as assisting my team. Meeting with clients and facing new challenges daily.
What is your favourite thing about working with the James Gibb team?
At James Gibb we all work together to discuss the everyone’s different experiences. By doing this as a team we strive to achieve the best possible solution for the client.
Do you have any interesting stories about working at James Gibb?
I’m constantly surprised about some of the things I see when I’m carrying out routine inspections in the communal areas of buildings and developments I manage. In one tenement, there was a framed picture of Elvis Presley hanging on the close wall, and in another, a lonely sausage sitting on the stairs. We do tweet about these things, as they make us laugh!
What’s the best thing about being a Senior Property Manager?
The diversity in my job, and my constantly growing property management knowledge. I’m sitting the IRPM Associate Exam in just over a month, which is exciting.
